Have YOU eaten a Sammich today?
Time to call out an Internet Hero: evilzug, and his trojan horse approach to the deep-linking anorexia set. Zug's story, with appropriate screencaps and illustrations, in 7 pages. This is my first exposure to online anorexia self-encouragement, and I find myself a bit surprised that such communities exist, and even more surprised that I'm surprised.
I know the main purpose of the Internet is collaboration, without regard for collaborators' mutual intent. This is why the various Internet services and "communities" represent a fusion of the First Amendment rights of speech and assembly, which in turn is why the Internet is a Good Thing (tm). And as a matter of fulfilling this purpose, societies' intricacies are exposed for anyone to view. So it really should not surprise me that such encouragement networks exist.
In the "pain is useful" sense, it's good to see online presence for the intricacy that is anorexia encouragement. Society can acknowledge and study the origin and nature of the derangements in play, while attempting to address the miswired people before they fulfill Darwin's Theory.
To that end, I'm going to update the dining page to identify quality sources of Sandwich Power. And probably attempt to convince Zug into designing a t-shirt or two.

And in other news...
Last week sucked, as did the week before that. There's nothing like busywork to flush productivity down the toilet, and I've had two weeks of busywork. This week is generally ok, but the next few weeks will probably suck, as rumors of productivity make the rounds. So the current tally is Suckiness 3, Goodness 1, with one more week undecided... Score for the year: Suckiness 9, Goodness 3, and the outlook isn't much brighter.

For once, a good week.
Finally. Last week was the first good week since before Thanksgiving. Spring is almost here. Spring Training is definitely here. The sweet sounds of baseball broadcasts did permeate the air; and the dim bleakness of winter gave way to the hope of Spring; and there was much rejoicing.
And here's some math: Ants in Plants + Pants on Ants == Ants in Pants. Subtract pants, subtract ants, and the plants remain.

This week also sucked.
Actually, this whole winter has sucked. Here's to Spring, and Spring Training.
