Catching up...
So, last week sucked. One more on the logpile, I suppose. Last weekend was better, if only by virtue of hunger being the best seasoning. Walking around, drinking, walking around some more, sleeping until some hour of the afternoon, and generally recuperating for the coming week, which I fully expect to suck.
Speaking of recuperation, DragonCon 2005 was exactly what the doctor ordered. This was not necessarily due to turnout, as affected by Hurricane Katrina, but due to parking myself downtown for a four-day weekend (Labor Day + another day off). I took MARTA into town Friday evening, returned Monday afternoon.
There are always multiple gatherings going on in Atlanta, and this year it was NetIP, another convention two blocks over. So we had a ~5000-yuppie booty call in one hotel, and about 20000 sci-fi/anime/fantasy/gaming fans throwing down in another three or four hotels. And it seemed like a good time was had by all. The line score: 3 days, too much bourbon, 2 Game Wins, 9 VP, 3 art purchases made, 4 art purchases missed, 250+ pictures taken with the cameraphone, and
