Play Ball!
Ah, the signs of spring. Pollen in the air, birds chirping, flowers blooming, and Fredi Gonzales sending catchers to certain outs at home. Baseball has returned again. And it's wonderful. The Braves are looking shakier than ever, but after the first week, it's ok. And now, we're playing the Phillies in a three-game series. If we can just bury the rest of the division, we'll be in great shape. For a while last week, I thought Andruw had shoulder problems, based on a few especially weak throws back to the infield. Francoeur is all over the damn place, and really needs to tighten up.

I took a four-day weekend recently, split time between Tunica and Oxford, paying poker, watching baseball, and eating crawfish. Poker turned out even for the weekend, due mainly to a great run on Monday. For once, I actually made some hands, and held onto leads. And, I tried Omaha for the first time...it's a screwed up game.

The vegetation porch takeover has begun! This time, peppers, beans, rosemary, chives, garlic, oregano, decorative flowers and jasmine contend for control of the porch, along with last year's sage and thyme. So far, so good.
