Two other angles here: First, I think the Democrats have shown themselves (again) to be a not viable party, by withholding some candidates from the primary. The Michigan voters took the opportunity to tell that party to fuck off. And in doing so, they gave the Party's selected choice (Clinton) another feather for her cap. And in doing so, they handed Romney a large margin of victory, percentage-wise.
Second, it's interesting to note that the "home" candidates are doing very well: Obama and Huckabee in Iowa, Clinton in New Hampshire, Romney in Michigan, winning against wide fields. That speaks to the lack of consensus (and viability) of the candidates of either party. |
