Primary Day in the Plantation State: Get off Your Ass and Vote.

Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel disqualified one of these two candidates on residency concerns. Can you guess which one? Detailed explanation and discussion of the roles of Sec. of State's office and the judiciary may be found here. It seems that Secretary Handel has overruled the designated judge's ruling to perform this disqualification; and is allowed to do so. Georgia's a plantation state, and Karen Handel is a watergirl.

And speaking of rigging an(other) election, can you pick out the shill(s) from this Democratic Senate Debate lineup? Creative Loafing has been harping on him for over a year now, but I don't think Vernon "Snuggles" Jones is the plant. I feel the guy is too pro-business (and conservative, actually) to reprise Mark Taylor's role as shill in November. However, I can't really find a quality candidate here, and that makes me a bit sad. I'm leaning toward voting for Knight, but there's a bit of a Bob Roberts quality to this guy that gives me the creeps.

And speaking of plantations, there's the Dunwoody question. It seems that Dekalb's half of unincorporated "prosperity" will join the Plantation Movement that carved up Fulton over the past few years. For a while, I thought they were more civilized than this, particularly after Sandy Spring's adoption of the Second Commandment ("You shall have no other community before me"). Tomorrow's vote will likely confirm my mistake.

Snark Check: Financial Edition
I got a good chuckle out of this anonymous post on an online forum, which fairly well rounds up the political jibber-jabber that resulted from this week's Fed bailout news. I believe the anonymous poster is following up his/her original anonymous post (in italics). This should be pasted to the inbox/monitor/forehead of most people who run the "rich bankers" line regarding FNMA/FMC.

Because we'd all be better off if Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went under, the mortgage industry died completely, housing prices fell another 70% and we went into the "greatest depression". Yeah, that's the ticket...

Because Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were created by W Bush. And their pooling of high-grade mortgages, which makes originating and getting a high grade/quality mortgages much more economically palatable and liquid, exist only to benefit Bush's super-rich banker friends... even if they were doing it well before W Bush's dad was president.

And you idiots would be better off watching FRE and FMN going under and your not being able to get high-credit fixed rate mortgage and therefore not being able to buy a house, if it meant that you could lay the blame on fuckhead Bush for what's goin on today. An idiot asshole who becomes president decades after the origination of FRE and FNM. He should certainly get the sole blame for well-documented stress building for decades.

Thus, you should put all the blame on the current idiot president, because he put all of this into motion when he was in highschool... when he had the foresight and power to unilaterally fuck things up that will occur 30 years in the future.

So now he, the Fed and H Paulson are obviously solely trying to enrich W's friends now and maintain the working persons ability to get a fucking high-quality mortgage by keeping FRE and FMN afloat; all the while that Bush isn't smart enough to know what's fucking being said in the meetings thereabout.

I also blame W Bush for MTV's "Real Life", all carbon emissions before he took office, AIDs, world hunger, hurricanes, muslim radicals, SUVs, Coldplay, Clinton's blowjobs, the economic rise of China and India, animal abuse, bad beer, Superman IV, the 1993 bombing of the WTC, the plot twist in Hancock, the Iowa floods and Amy Winehouse's drug addiction. All these things came about so W Bush could bail out his super rich friends.

The majority of you don't even know what these 2 organizations (Freddie and Fannie) even fucking do. But you get a semi-woody at the prospect of being able to blame everything that's wrong today on W Bush. And I probably hate hime more than you...

You give him far more credit than the idiot deserves.

If you don't want to ever be able to buy a house again (unless you want to put 30%-40% down), than root for the demise of Freddie and Fannie. That's what you want, isn't it?
