In lieu of writing the standard tournament report, I took these palmcam pictures of V:tES games at DragonCon 2005. Treo has a basic camera (as you can see), but does a fairly good job for in-game pictures. The green tint, where found, is most likely a function of autoexposure logic, either in the camera or its software.

| Photo_090305_036 | [V:tES] Round 2. Free cards for newbies! One day, I'll make a deck from free offerings such as this, and stomp a tournament. |
| Photo_090305_037 | [V:tES] It was round 2 before I remembered I had a cameraphone. Fortunately, round 1 sucked, and was unworthy of pictures. So, here's Queen Anne, after bleeding unblockably (by one minion). |
| Photo_090305_038 | [V:tES] Round 2. Revelations (top left) must be my favorite card in the game, and here's why. This is Joe's (predator's) hand, as revealed by Matt (grand-pred.). Let's see...two intercept retainers, two anti-bleed untaps, a Freak Drive, a stealth card, and a bloodhunt cancellation card. Note the lack of aggravated damage here. The minion with intercept is tapped. I will only have to worry about being bled for one, and being blocked by my prey. |
| Photo_090305_039 | [V:tES] Early game, round 2. Lazverinus and someone else (dylan?) on my left. Gangrel-antitribu and Tzimisce across from me. More gangrel-antitribu to my right. Somehow, nobody contested vampires here. (Although, two players almost contested a location. |
| Photo_090305_040 | [V:tES] Round 2. Lazverinus gets some help -- an Eternal Vigilance, and something involving damage prevention. Another minion acquires Zillah's Tears. This looks generally grim from my point of view, but at least I can keep Laz from blocking. |
| Photo_090305_041 | [V:tES] Round 2. After a time, we convinced my grand-prey to use dice as counters, instead of adding up the numbers. |
| Photo_090305_042 | [V:tES] Round 2. My grand-predator. Tzimisce, with Hunting Ground and Revelations. |
| Photo_090305_043 | [V:tES] Round 2. We have one of my ventrue-antitribu wearing the vamp-cam. Promo cards lie in the middle of the table; My prey has about...7 pool, my grand-prey looks to have 9. |
| Photo_090305_044 | [V:tES] Round 2. Tragedy strikes my prey, as he sends Lazverinus into the teeth of Celerity/Protean. Laz ended up in torpor after a few rounds and strikes from a gangrel-antitribu. This opened the way for my first VP. |
| Photo_090305_047 | [V:tES] Not much has changed to my right...although my grand-predator has less pool now. Joe draws to replace a card; hopefully with a wolf's claws. That's my Omaya in the bottom-left, btw. She is a wonderful answer to poke-for-one-agg combat. Again, I'm really surprised we didn't contest her. |
| Photo_090305_048 | [V:tES] Round 3. Jeff (prey) brings out two weenies and Petra, and recruits Raven Spys. John (grand-prey) brings out some vamps, and equips them (or sends them anarch -- I can't remember). David (grand-pred) gets a nossie, equips him with a Flak Jacket. I bring out Owain Evans and a Blood Doll, and immediately start receiving dividends (First Action: Governing at superior). I've also made grand-prey and grand-predator aware of Owain's special. |
| Photo_090305_049 | [V:tES] Round 3. Trouble to my right: Oscar (predator) has an Ahrimane and a Dragonbound in play. At least I have some fortitude... David has placed a Raven Spy on his one Nossie. |
| Photo_090305_050 | [V:tES] Round 3. Ossian gets to wear the Vamp-Cam this round. Jeff's looking to get entrenched, two animalism weenies, Petra (w/ both Raven Spies), and about 20 pool. Raven spies everywhere! |
| Photo_090305_051 | [V:tES] Round 3. What remained of Oscar's third round...apparently his deck is weak against Animalism, multi-round combat with guns. Dragonbound, some counter-based card or another, and a scotch, which David and I split amongst ourselves. ;-) |
| Photo_090305_052 | [V:tES] Round 3. And here is said Animalism, multi-round combat with guns. The Gangrel in the middle of picture did most of the damage. |
| Photo_090305_053 | [V:tES] Round 3. Oscar's roommate and a friend came downstairs to check on him... :) |
| Photo_090305_054 | [V:tES] Final Round. Generally, people don't get this close to David Tatu's (5th seed) left, without being ousted. And I chose to sit here. |
| Photo_090305_055 | [V:tES] Final Round. Early-round action. I have chosen the best seating position for this table -- It turns out Darby (prey) was playing a bruise+bleed+vote deck, as heralded by Sela. Robyn (grand-prey) brings out the first of her Nossie Prince+Horde. Matt (grand-predator) has several Tzimisce in play (with Army of Rats). David (predator) is slowly building up Nossies and Gangrel off-frame. Knowing what Matt and David were playing, and going first (or second), I had an opportunity to gain pool from the edge. I brought out March Halcyon with my first transfer, bled on turn two, and held the edge (nossie-marker) for at least two more turns, paying for March plus a pool. |
| Photo_090305_056 | [V:tES] Final Round. It could be worse -- I could be stuck to the left of Sela and Jeremy. This way, Darby has to balance between pressuring his prey (e.g., beating Robyn's vamps into torpor) and keeping me from walking into a VP. I've looked at his hand at this point (via Revelations); it's all Potence combat. So, Sela and Jeremy remain untapped, to catch my vamps. |
| Photo_090305_057 | [V:tES] Final Round. |
| Photo_090305_058 | [V:tES] Final Round. Robyn, my final round grand-prey (4th seed). |
| Photo_090305_059 | [V:tES] Final Round. Darby, my final round prey (2nd seed). |
| Photo_090305_060 | [V:tES] Final Round. Matt, my final round grand-predator (3rd seed). |
| Photo_090305_061 | [V:tES] Final Round. I'd like to introduce you to this neat card, Anachronism. After Lord Ashton equipped with a .44 Magnum, I dropped it on Danielle Diron, to prevent any more such nonsense. She's already got the Ericyes Fragment, for +1 bleed and Dominate on the way. Even though I had fortitude in hand, I wanted to reduce the number of gun-wielding vamps coming to bleed me. |
| Photo_090305_062 | [V:tES] Final Round. Mid-game action. Darby (prey) is either playing the Enchant Kindred (superior) blood, or transferring out a fourth vamp. In either case, I think Darby was paying way too much attention to me, as evidenced by Robyn's (grand-prey's) 20 pool and full complement of vamps. Oh well. |
| Photo_090305_063 | [V:tES] Final Round. Late-round action, David taps Danielle Diron for an action...I was too busy taking the picture to block. Note Danielle's Anachronism. :-) Also note Matt's two pool, and David's four pool. At least David has Eco-Terrorists in play. |
| Photo_090305_064 | [V:tES] Final Round. And some action has occurred to my left: At some point, Darby drew into some bleed and some fight; Robyn's short a few minions and about 8 pool. |

| Photo_090405_028 | [V:tES] Scattershot action. David Cherryholmes' creation, in action. It includes Menele and Mylan Horseed, and it's bleeding some Ventrue-antitribu. |
| Photo_090405_029 | [V:tES] Scattershot action. David Cherryholmes(L) untaps a vampire for the (N)th time, with Mylan Horseed, and has a 2-minion advantage over Gabe Peoples(R)...This looks really grim for Gabe. Darby, David Tatu, and LSJ (L-R) finish action on the back table. |
| Photo_090405_030 | [V:tES] Scattershot action. This looks fairly grim for someone's game. |
