Tournament Report Charlotte, NC 3 rounds + Final April 17, 2004 I was going to reconstitute a malk-anti sneak'n'bleed deck from the two or three deck fragments roaming around in my travel bag. Then I remembered the other Ravnos vote deck I put together in 2003: Ravnos Cardinals. I lumped the freak drives back in, replaced the two copies of Anson with two copies of Etienne, removed an Arson, and went to work. Round 1 (.5 vp)me: Ravnos Cardinals (1.5 vp)Jim Suh: Nosferatu-antitribu vote (0 vp)Jeff Thompson: Tzimisce intercept/combat (.5 vp)David Cherryholmes: Harbingers Brinksmanship (,5 vp)Mike ???: Ventrue Law Firm Vote/Bleed Both Jim and Mike got votes out before I did; Jim successfully called Cardinal Benediction. David and Jeff joined the vote party a bit later, with offsetting prisci and a negotiated Benediction (David). Jim beat me to (a) the first title, (b) Giant's Blood and (c) Legendary Vampire. I chose not to contest Parthenon with David. The only reason I had votes in the game at all the timely draw of my first Benediction, after Mike played a Charming Lobby and left it unused. I managed to fire the Ancient Influence, Reins of Power, and Political Stranglehold. The game ended up with ~30 votes on the table. Jim ousted Jeff at the 1:58 mark. Round 2 (0 vp)Jordan Beall (2 vp)Jeff Thompson (2 vp)Nate Fourret (1 vp)Jim Suh (0 vp)me After two hours of being Jim's predator, I got to be his prey. I was beaten to a vote again, shut out of the voting, and ousted in 20 minutes. Jim probably still thinks he did something clever. Round 3 (0 vp)A____: (1.5 vp)Nate Fourret: (0 vp)B____: (0 vp)Jeff Thompson: (1.5 vp)me: This game, I hit all my pool gain, and leaned on a Powerbase: Montreal Nate had put into play. With Ezmerelda, Ankla Hotep, and Kostantin in play, I sat on a Golconda for a long, long time. Nate threw 13 pool worth of vote damage backward against the all-forward Malk deck. Since B____ announced (with confirmation from Nate) that he wasn't carrying bounce, I felt free to bleed forward with Ezmerelda and Kostantin. Between Nate and I, B___ was ousted. Ankla Hotep got Legendary Vampire and a Cardinal title; Kostantin merely became a Cardinal. Final Round (0 vp) me (0 vp) Derek Ray (1 vp) Jim Suh (0 vp) Mike ????? (4 vp) Nate Fourret I didn't see much action at this table. Jim beat me to a title again, voted against my cardinal benediction. Derek saw Upheavals in Jim's library (via Scrying of Secrets) and after Jim switched places with him, warned the table that more jumps were pending. I took advantage of the move and transferred out before Jim could jump behind me. Oh well.
